Moss Stitch Washcloth

Ready to add a new stitch to your arsenal? Moss stitch is great because it has a lot if stretch from top to bottom. That makes it a great stitch choice for market bags - it can stretch to accommodate more of your goodies.
This stitch pattern is very simple - it's alternating single crochet and chain one. You will repeat the same two rows until you achieve your desired length.
Without further ado:
SUPPLIES
Yarn: 100% Cotton, worsted weight (4), 1.4 oz.
I used scrap yarn leftover from a project
Hook: US I/5.50mm

I used a Susan Bates hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors
STITCH GUIDE
Ch – chain
Ea – each
Hdc – half double crochet
Sc – single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
St – stitch
Sp - space
Chain 32
Row 1: Sc in second chain from hook, *ch 1 and skip next ch sp, sc in next ch sp* to end. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, sc in ch 1 space, *ch 1 and skip next sc, sc in ch 1 sp* repeat until last 2 st. Sc in ea of last 2 st. Turn
Row 3: Ch 1, *Sc, ch 1 and skip next st* to last st. Sc in last st. Turn.
Row 4-30: Repeat rows 2 & 3
Border: Ch 1, sc in each st across to last st. At last st sc, ch 1, turn work on it’s side and sc in the same st. Continue down the side of the cloth placing sc evenly. At last bottom st, sc, ch1, turn work (you are now on the bottom of the cloth), and sc in the same st. Sc in ea st along the bottom to the last st. At last st sc, ch1, turn work and sc in sam
e st. Now sc evenly along the last side. On last st sc, ch1 and sl st to the first st on the top.
Cut yarn, leaving 6 inch tail. Weave in ends.
